Professor Stan Gilmour KPM FRSA is a Strategic Consultant in Systems Leadership for Community Health, Safety, and Wellbeing and an Honorary Professor of Practice in Policing at Keel University, an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the University of Exeter and a Senior Associate Fellow with the Police Foundation (UK).

His research interests span neurodisability, violence prevention, state threats and organized crime, with a specific focus on capacity building for prevention.

Stan is a GLEPHA Fellow and co-convenor of two GLEPHA Special Interest Groups one on Neurodisability and the other on Violence Prevention, both of which are co-convened by African colleagues.

Following a 30 career in policing Prof. Gilmour was awarded the King’s Police Medal for
distinguished service in the 2024 King’s Birthday Honours List and is a Fellow of the Royal
Society of Arts.
