Justice Zione Jane Veronica Ntaba is an accomplished judge serving on the High Court,
presiding over cases at the High Court Zomba Registry in the Eastern Judicial Region of
Malawi. She has previously worked for the Ministry of Justice as a prosecutor, civil litigator
and legislative draftsperson. She also worked for the Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority as
its first Director of Legal Affairs and Board Secretary. Her extensive legal career spans both
criminal and civil cases, reflecting her versatile expertise in the judicial field. Beyond her role
as an adjudicator, she contributes significantly to legal policymaking and legislative analysis
on a national scale.
Her legal interests are diverse and encompass various aspects of the law, with a focus on
energy law, international law, constitutional law, and human rights law. She is passionate
about gender, children, and disability rights. She is also an experienced trainer on various
aspects of the law including gender. She has several publications on various areas including
legislative drafting, health, access to justice.
